Bah Humbug!

I just needed a reason to use the new Bah Humbug! die set, so I whipped up this card with the new Dragon Christmas Wishes.  I just thought it was a fun combo.  This is all part of the latest Whimsy release and is currently available in their online store.

I have been waiting for a great die to do this popped up window with.  I love the look of the recessed words to give this card fun dimension.

Creating the card:

For this card I layered a red dot pattern paper onto a red cardstock mat, and then adhered it to the card base.  To create the recessed window, I die cut the Bah Humbug! out of white cardstock, and popped it up off a white strip of the same white paper.  Next I die cut the letters in red cardstock, and adhered them within the opening, and because I wanted it to stand out,  I adhered it to two red outer-edge strips from the Slimline Postage die.

Once the sentiment layer were done, I popped it up off the card base.   I then colored and hand cut out the main image, and popped it up off the upper edge of the sentiment.

What a fun card this would be too received, and it is definitely one to encourage a giggle.

  1. When I first saw the sled with the flames I thought Oh My Word that is cute. It reminded me of a Charlie Daniels song that had a lyric (changing the word car for sled) that said, “Who owns this sled with the peace sign, the mag wheels and 4 on the floor?”. That sled looks like it could really haul some _ _ _ !
