Everyone needs a baby card ready to go when needed.  This adorable chubby elephant is from the clear set Jungle Babies and is another one in the latest release.  I wanted to keep it a neutral baby card as you just never know people are going to have.  

Here was my thought process in creating this card…and how it went a completely different direction then planned.  I started out random stamping the image all over the background paper.  I was going to create this card with one popped up and the word welcome on top.  I know the is what you think you see but after I completed the coloring the background was to bold.  So after all that work I placed Vellum over the background to mute it allowing for the popped up elephant to be more prominent.  Yes it hurt to color up the background after all that work but the results were much better when I called it done.

Card Design

I colored up the background and stamped/colored the sentiment and a separate elephant on another sheet of cardstock.  After layering up the background I used Kinetic Curved hills to create a front panel for the card front.  The Wish Upon a Star background was perfect for this card so I added that to the panel with a brown ink pad.  Using the Bold ABC dies I die cut WELCOME and random popped it up on the panel.  Quick Strips die was perfect for the sentiment.  Last thing was to pop up the final elephant.

I do love how the elephant stand s alone and really pops off the card.  You can find all the products I used below.  I can not see what color you decide to use in your baby cards.
