Step into Nature

This card gives the feeling that there is nature all around you and I so enjoy my quiet times amongst the tree.  In Northern California (where I once lived) you could walk amongst the tall Redwoods and at your feet you are surrounded by a green carpet of ferns, so this is where the image took me.  If you are looking for simple and elegant then this is the stamp for you!  Wether it is colored, or simply stamped and embossed the results will be stunning.

Creating this Card:

Oh this is an easy one because the image has details to include tiny dots where it could represent the shading and I filled it as so.  Even if you only use one color the dotted areas appear darker making it so easy.  After quickly coloring it up I distressed the edges of the main image using a paper distress tool.  You can also just use the edge of scissors to achieve the same look but tools are always an easier way to go.

I wanting to incorporate white into the card to compliment the stamped sentiment that I chose from Beaucoup Bouquet clear stamps, so I layered the Fern background onto a die-cut using Wonky Stitched Rectangle.

To bring the card together I wrapped the image with black ribbon and popped up the sentiment on the front.  The added die-cut ferns from Leaf Foliage 1 were a compliment to the white panel and sentiment layer, and of course I had to add a few black butterflies too.

  1. Beautiful Card! The would be wonderful for any occasion. I miss the forest and mountains too.

  2. Beautiful. It takes me back to my Oregon rain forests, which I miss terribly.

  3. I love the pops of white on the green fern background. So pretty. I don’t suppose if I order the stamp it will color itself once I stamp it on the paper?!
