Turtley Fun Card – Tutorial

This was a “turtley awesome” card to make.  I grabbed some of my La La Land Crafts stash with an idea in mind, and made it happen.  A little sliding fish window.  I have seen people make “rain” using fishing line and beads, and thought I would do something a little different.  my process is posted below.  You are going to like this one.

Creating This Card:

If you notice above in the photo the fish are in different places…this is because they can swim.  Below you will see how I did this.

I used a sticky note pad paper, and fishing line to make this happen.  You can see in the closeup of the particular window on how I looped the fishing line back and forth on the back of the card, adhering with a tape runner.  I would recommend you use small stir straws instead of paper if you have them.  I did not.  All you need is a small tube-like structure, and thread the fishing line through them.

Of course you can’t leave it just like this, you will need to pop up the whole layer of the card in order for the tubes to slide.  I used double thickness foam pop up tape.  I made sure I covered the looks of the fishing line with the foam tape to secure it better.

Now that the card is adhered to the card base with the water elements underneath, I adhered the little fish to the tubes with liquid adhesive.  This allows the fish to slide along the fishing line when the card moves.

I added more of the fun ocean themed die cuts to the card to finish it off.  Isn’t that sea turtle adorable.  All the products I used are posted below with links.
