Well Seasoned Friend

The Early Bird DOES get the worm, so I am recommending you get this on your order right away before it sells out!!!  I can promise it won’t last long in the store!   The moment I saw this Whimsy Stamps clear set, drawn by my friend Dustin Pike, I knew I had to color it up!!  You must check out the whole set of Early Bird, what a crack up this is!  Those expressions!!!

Creating This Card

This card was made with a bunch of frames.  I found the quickest way to created frames is with nesting rectangle dies.  To save you the headache of listening to me ramble, I will skip all that part and give you the rest of the details.

Using a small dot pattern paper I adhered it to the card front and popped up the lower yellow frame.  The scallop from the Kinetic Straight Basics die set was adhered under the blue frame and then added to the top of the yellow frame.   After hand stamping the sentiment onto white cardstock.  I popped it up in the center of the frame after layering it onto the the matching blue pattern paper.

My Plan A was to make a shaker card and add salt and pepper and other spices into the shaker, but I decided it would get messy because the static might not allow for a good shake.  I went with plan B.

This funny little bird was colored and cut out and popped up on the front.  Isn’t the nest cool?  I designed the nest using the branch from Christmas Branches die set.

Don’t you think this is great card for that “seasoned” friend?   More of this fun release over the next week so be sure and come back.

    1. hello Vicki most my cards these days are using hand stamped backgrounds with stamps from La-La Land Crafts or Whimsy Stamps (both have links on my sidebar). In the past I use quite a bit of Doodlebug pattern paper which remains a favorite of mine. If you are talking about the white cardstock I use its Hammermill and the link is under “products I love tab” above on my blog. Enjoy.
